Paddle boarding has grown very popular in recent years.   Did you know the U.S. Coast Guard recently determined that a paddle board is a vessel and must have required safety equipment?

Click here to review the safety guidelines from the Florida Wildlife Commission website.

Looking for ideas on how to get your board on the water FAST and FREE?   If you have your own board, parking along Beach Road on the south end of Jupiter Island is easy.  You can walk your board 20 yards to the Intracoastal and be on your way in minutes.   To check the tides click here.   This area is very close to the Jupiter Inlet, so be careful of the boat traffic and mindful of the tide.  The best time of course is any weekday.  If you can go early or close to dusk you'll see a lot of marine life along your paddle.   Boating traffic is pretty heavy on the weekends in the afternoon.  If you can avoid weekend afternoon, you should.

If you're looking to rent a board, check out Jupiter Outdoor Center.   They make it easy and fun to get out on the water and they are highly rated on Trip Advisor.

Have fun and be safe!
